RTD adjusts Route 402L during US 85 improvements

Beginning Monday, March 13, and lasting through 2025, RTD will close seven bus stops along Route 402L between County Line Road and Highlands Ranch Parkway during work by Douglas County to improve the US 85 corridor. The route will remain in service.

Due to the nature of the roadway work, there is no way to safely accommodate RTD customers within the construction zone, and no safe place within the limits of the project to place temporary ADA-compliant stops. Customers are encouraged to sign up for Service Alerts and check the Trip Planner app to plan trips in advance.

The project to widen US 85 from Highlands Ranch Parkway to C-470 includes multimodal improvements such as a new shared-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians on the east side of US 85 to increase accessibility to public transportation. There will also be four new bus stop shelters with bike racks and three other updated stops, a below-grade crossing for the C-470 Trail at US 85, a below-grade crossing for the High Line Canal Trail at US 85, and a new pedestrian link from the Wolhurst Senior Community to the C-470 Trail. For additional details about the US 85 improvements, visit the Douglas County website.
