Rad Things To Do

Rad Things (to) Do - February 2025

Austin Nettleton

Love is in the air. Unfortunately, sometimes, it mixes with the smell of “The Winds of Greeley” and makes for quite an unpleasant experience. Jokes aside, it’s a month of romance, love and a slew of events, concerts, sporting events and plays have the short month of February bursting at the seams. With it being a short month, every day of the calendar is jam-packed with events to enjoy, whether with a significant other or solo. Dive into this lovely edition of Rad Things (to) Do.

Sports

There’s a lot to love about February. Romantic night walks in the city with the snow falling. Having a date in a warm and cozy steakhouse. Midday chats in a dimly lit coffee shop. Hearing the deafening roar of 12-ton, 11-foot-tall monster trucks doing backflips and the satisfying crunch of old rusty cars getting flattened. It’s such a lovely time of the year.

The month of love just means more for Denver sports fans. Kicking things off is the return of the best show on four wheels – Monster Jam at Ball Arena. Returning for two nights, the spectacle of crushing metal takes over Ball Arena. Featuring legends Grave Digger, Megalodon and Earthshaker, these behemoths of engineering and their pilots will perform unbelievable acts of adrenaline-fueled mechanical acrobatics as the season reaches its peak.

The feats of strength don’t end there, as just a few days later, Colorado’s best high school wrestlers take to the mats to prove who is the best wrestler in the state.

As far as traditional sports go, the Nuggets take the lion’s share of the sports calendar this month, continuing their fight at the top of the Western Conference as the season approaches the NBA All-Star Break. The Mika Rantanen-less Avs look to stay afloat in the top four of the Central Division later this month against the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild in a two-game homestand that could prove pivotal in the divisional race. Don’t forget about the Mammoth, as they have a home game against Las Vegas on Feb. 21.

For 25 years, Canadian post-hardcore and emo legends Silverstein have been putting out nonstop albums and iconic emo anthems.
