RailService Disruption

RTD will provide bus shuttle service Jan. 25-26 between Florida and Southmoor stations during H and R line maintenance windows.

RTD Staff

RTD will perform track maintenance along the I-225 corridor between Florida and Southmoor stations Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 25-26. Scheduled maintenance windows will temporarily impact weekend light rail service on the H and R lines.

During the two-day period, contracted crews will work to mitigate railhead surface defects by conducting rail grinding between Florida and Southmoor stations. Regular light rail service on the H and R lines will resume Monday, Jan. 27.

H and R line trains will not operate on their normal routes between 4:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. each day of the two-day period. Bus shuttles will replace H and R line trains between Southmoor and Florida stations. Trains will resume normal schedules and operations outside of the scheduled maintenance hours.

  • R Line service will operate as normal between Peoria and Florida stations. R line trains will not operate south of Florida Station between 4:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Jan. 25-26.
  • Bus shuttle service will be offered between Florida and Southmoor stations while work is taking place.
  • At Southmoor Station, connections can be made to the E Line for travel north to Union Station or south to RidgeGate Parkway Station.

Boarding for bus shuttles will take place at the following gates:

  • Southmoor Station – Gate A
  • Dayton Station – Bus bridge sign in bus loop
  • Nine Mile Station – Gate E
  • Iliff Station – Gate A
  • Florida Station – Bus bridge sign next to station

Customers whose trips are impacted by the temporary rail disruption are encouraged to use RTD’s Next Ride app to plan a trip using alternate bus routes. Customers are also encouraged to sign up for Service Alerts.

RTD thanks its customers for their patience during this work.
