RTD to provide bus shuttle service Sept. 28 during W Line repairs

RTD will perform necessary maintenance that will affect light rail service beginning late Friday, Sept. 27, and extend through early Sunday, Sept. 29. Crews will make permanent repairs to overhead wire damaged last month by vandalism.

Final W Line departures on Friday, Sept. 27, will be as follows, with the last three trips of the night canceled each direction (bus shuttle service is unavailable on Friday):

  • Denver Union Station – 11:22 p.m.
  • Jefferson County Government Center·Golden – 11:24 p.m.

Crews will replace overhead wires near Lamar Station on Saturday, Sept. 28. During the work, W Line service will not operate between Sheridan and Garrison stations. Bus shuttles will replace trains between these stations. Boarding for bus shuttles will take place at the following stops/locations:

  • Sheridan Station – eastbound and westbound Route 9 bus stops (10th and Ames streets)
  • Lamar Station – eastbound and westbound Route 9 bus stops (13th and Lamar streets)
  • Lakewood·Wadsworth Station – board next to the rail platform
  • Garrison Station – board next to the rail platform

Trains will operate on a single track between Jefferson County Government Center•Golden and Garrison stations. Customers are cautioned to expect trains in both directions on the track. Train service will operate as normal between Sheridan and Union stations.

On Sunday, Sept. 29, full service returns to the W Line between Union Station and Jefferson County Government Center•Golden, with the first trains departing at the following times, with the first three scheduled trips each direction being canceled (bus shuttle service is unavailable on Sunday):

  • Union Station – 6:09 a.m.
  • Jefferson County Government Center·Golden Station – 7:20 a.m.
