Maintenance work to impact RTD A Line commuter rail service Sept. 13-14

RTD will perform scheduled maintenance work that requires de-energization of a portion of the overhead electrical system for A Line commuter rail service on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 13-14.

Service on the A Line between 40th Ave. & Airport Blvd•Gateway Park and Denver Airport stations will be interrupted over a 48-hour period beginning Tuesday and continuing through the end of service on Wednesday. Regular service will resume Thursday, Sept. 15.

While lines are de-energized, crews will make repairs to the overhead electrical system at 61st•Peña Station and perform maintenance work at Denver Airport Station, including concrete work, testing of a fire suppression system, replacement of glass panels in the canopy located over the rail platform and inspection of a soil nail wall.

  • RTD is offering bus shuttle service to connect A Line customers between 40th Ave. & Airport Blvd•Gateway Park and Denver Airport stations. A Line customers can access the shuttles at the following gates:
    • 40th Ave. & Airport Blvd•Gateway Park Station – Gate D
    • 61st•Peña Station – In front of station
    • Denver Airport Station – Gate 7

Customers should anticipate delays and are encouraged to explore alternate routes if their trips are affected by the rail closure.
