Overview of the Proposed January 2025 Service Changes
RTD is proposing the following service changes to increase reliability, improve on-time performance, and support RTD’s System Optimization Plan to enhance the overall transit experience for customers.
Below are details on the proposed service changes and methods for providing your feedback. RTD is accepting feedback on the Proposed January 2025 Service Changes through Thursday, October 31. We want to hear from you and thank you for participating however you can!
In addition to the changes listed below, the following changes have also been proposed:
- Route 1E/44 - Art District Connector - Service Increase, Route Adjustment
- Eastern segments of Route 1 and Route 44 would be combined into a new route connecting the Baker and Five Points neighborhoods between Alameda and 40th•Colorado rail stations. Current service levels on western segments of Route 1 and Route 44 would be retained.
- Connect the Santa Fe Arts District, Denver Theatre District, and RiNo Arts District in support of RTD's System Optimization Plan

Route is currently unable to reliably serve the 13th & Lisbon stop due to traffic signal work at Colfax and Picadilly.
University Blvd

Buses would operate in a loop via Maxwell, taking a right turn on Dunkirk, right turn on 56th Ave, and right turn on Ireland, with buses serving all existing stops in both directions.
Reason
Account for ongoing westbound detour that requires buses to make a left hand turn from Ireland on to 56th Avenue at an unsignaled intersection.

Reinstate 30-minute service frequency in morning and evening rush hours on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays/holidays. Hours of operation on weekdays expanding to midnight for trips from DEN to Boulder, and past midnight for trips from Boulder to DEN.

Boulder / Denver Airport

A new AB2 route is proposed to connect Downtown Boulder Station and the Denver Airport, operating on Canyon Blvd. and 28th Street with service to US36•Table Mesa Station.

Interlocken-Westmoor

Expand boundaries of Interlocken FlexRide to include new affordable housing development northwest of US 36 and Northwest Parkway.
Reason
Expansion of boundaries will include a new affordable housing development, which will improve transportation options for lower income residents and enhance ridership.
North Broomfield
- Route Adjustment
Change
Expand boundaries of North Broomfield FlexRide to include a new area between the streets of: Midway Blvd to the south, Zuni St to the east, and Main Street to the west. Expanded service area will also include the Walmart at 200W 136th Ave, and a small section near Outlook Bluff.
Reason
Expansion of boundaries will provide enhanced FlexRide connections for residents in North Broomfield, and add multiple key travel destinations that were previously inaccessible via the North Broomfield FlexRide service.

RTD is collecting customer, stakeholder, and community feedback about the Proposed January 2025 Service Changes through Thursday, October 31. All feedback will be shared with RTD’s Board of Directors during the November meeting cycle.
