RTD is implementing service changes to take effect May 26, 2024 to increase reliability, improve on-time performance, address seasonal school adjustments, and accommodate both the Coping Panel Project the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project.

Final Changes for Local/Limited Bus Routes
Route 0L | MODIFIED
All-day service will be introduced to support light rail customers impacted by Phase 1 of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project. This service level will continue until Phase 1 is complete, expected in September 2024.
Route 8 | MODIFIED
Minor adjustments will be made to weekday, Saturday, and Sunday/Holiday schedules to increase on-time performance.
Route 10 | MODIFIED
Minor adjustments will be made to weekday, Saturday, and Sunday/Holiday schedules to increase on-time performance.

Route will adjust to use Airport Way in both directions instead of Peña Blvd. An eastbound stop will be added at 40th Ave & E. 40th Cir (Stop ID: 24702), and a westbound bus stop will be added at 40th Ave & Airport Way (Stop ID: 24701) to improve operations and transit access.

The route number will change from “Route 120W/E“ to“Route 120”to better match RTD local route numbering convention and reduce confusion related to direction. The route will be named“120th Avenue Crosstown”.

Route will be renamed “Thornton/Brighton” to better identify the origin and destination of the route and reduce confusion.

Weekday service frequency will be reduced to 30 minutes during the summer months.

Weekday service frequency will be reduced to 30 minutes during the summer months.
Evergreen FlexRide | MODIFIED
The Evergreen North and Evergreen South FlexRide service areas will be combined into a singular service area.
Platte Valley FlexRide | MODIFIED
The flex route will be removed to allow Platte Valley FlexRide to operate as a regular FlexRide service within the boundaries of: Federal Blvd to the west, Alameda Ave to the south, Colfax to the north, and Santa Fe to the east. This service will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Free MallRide | MODIFIED
Service frequency will be reduced to 10 minutes. This change will allow operator resources to reinstate Free MetroRide to support better circulation of customers in the downtown area during Phase 1 of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project.
Free MetroRide | REINSTATED
MetroRide service will be reinstated. Vehicles will connect Union Station and Civic Center Station, operating along 18th and 19th Streets to give customers alternative connections between Denver Union Station and the Central Business District. The level/frequency of service will vary based upon detour impacts associated with Phase 1 of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project.
JUMP | MODIFIED
Weekday service frequency will be reduced to 30 minutes during the summer months, as follows:
30 minutes between Downtown Boulder Station and Arapahoe Rd/63rd
60 minutes between Arapahoe Rd/63rd and Lafayette Park-n-Ride
60 minutes between Downtown Boulder Station and Erie Community Center.
SKIP | MODIFIED
Weekday service frequency will be reduced to 15 minutes during the summer months.
Final Changes for Regional Bus Routes
Route FF1 | MODIFIED
Union Station/ Downtown Boulder (All Stops): Minor adjustments will be made to weekday, Saturday, and Sunday/Holiday schedules to improve on-time performance.
Union Station/ Downtown Boulder Express: It is proposed to adjust the last eastbound trips on Saturdays and Sundays to depart Downtown Boulder Station 15 minutes earlier than current schedule. The new departure times of 11:15 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:30 p.m. on Sundays would allow enough time for arrival at Denver Union Station before closing of the facility at 12:30 a.m.
Route GS | MODIFIED
Minor adjustments will be made to the weekday schedule to increase on-time performance.
Route NB | MODIFIED
Weekdays operating to Nederland PnR.
Weekends operating to Nederland High School.
Route RX | MODIFIED
The 5:24 p.m. and 6:48 p.m. northbound trips will consolidate to single northbound trip departing Civic Center Station at 6:15 p.m. The 5:04 p.m. northbound trip will change to 5:18 p.m. to better balance the schedule.
Final Changes for Rail
Two different projects will significantly impact light rail operations in the summer of 2024. To accommodate the work, RTD will be adapting services on the D, E and H lines and suspending service on the L Line.
Where applicable, reduced service windows and frequencies will allow for better train operations by providing more concentrated maintenance and inspection periods, minimizing disruptions and enhancing the overall efficiency of the rail system.
The Coping Panel Project is entering its second and final year, scheduled to commence from May through September. To optimize work efficiency and ensure timely completion, adjustments will be made to the operational hours and service frequency of the E and H lines. This strategic move aims to provide extended time windows for essential maintenance activities to be carried out efficiently.
The Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project is set to begin Phase 1 operations in May, focusing on the replacement of track infrastructure at five key intersections within Downtown Denver. This initiative will necessitate rerouting the D and H lines to Union Station, and suspending service on the L Line. Scheduled for completion by September, Phase 1 aims to restore optimal functionality to the affected lines, facilitating their return to regular service.
D Line – MODIFIED
The D Line will experience reduced operating hours and be rerouted to serve Union Station during Phase 1 of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project.
During this time trains would not serve Colfax at Auraria, Theatre District•Convention Center, or the Stout and California stations. Instead, trains would be rerouted, connecting 10th•Osage to Auraria West, Empower Field at Mile High, Ball Arena•Elitch Gardens, and Union Station.
Trains will operate between 5:00 a.m. – midnight Sunday through Thursday, and between 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
E Line – MODIFIED
Service frequency and operating hours on the E Line will be reduced to mitigate impacts to service while the Coping Panel Project continues, as it will be necessary to reduce operating speeds in the Southeast Corridor.
Trains will operate between 5:00 a.m. – midnight Sunday through Thursday, and between 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday, with trains running every 60 minutes.
H Line – MODIFIED
The H Line will be rerouted to serve Union Station, with a reduction in operating hours and service frequency, during Phase 1 of the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project and the Coping Panel Project.

Due to the nature and impact of the work, it is impossible to operate trains while the project takes place. Impacted customers are encouraged to take other modes of transit, including Free MallRide, Free MetroRide, and Route 43.
N Line – MODIFIED
Two trips will be added on Saturday evenings, one southbound trip at 11:13 p.m. and one northbound trip at 11:56 p.m. in response to increased customer requests and increased ridership.
R Line – MODIFIED
Operating hours will be reduced on the R Line.
Trains will operate between 5:00a.m.–midnight Sunday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
W Line – MODIFIED
Operating hours on the W Line will be reduced. Trains will operate between 4:30 a.m. – midnight Sunday through Thursday, and between 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
