RTD will provide bus shuttle service March 11-13 during extended light rail maintenance window
RTD will extend its overnight maintenance window to perform track and rail maintenance along the Southeast Corridor between Southmoor and I-25•Broadway stations Tuesday, March 11, through Thursday, March 13. The work will temporarily impact light rail service on the E and H lines between the stations.
E and H line trains line will not operate on their normal routes between 4:30 a.m. and approximately 12:15 p.m. each day of the three-day period.
Regular light rail service on the E and H lines will resume on Friday, March 14.
Bus shuttles will replace E and H line trains between Southmoor and I-25•Broadway stations while the track work is underway. Trains will resume normal schedules and operations outside of the daily scheduled maintenance hours.
During the approximately eight-hour period, crews will tamp rail and adjust track geometry to eliminate the last E Line speed restriction that remains between Yale and Southmoor stations on the southbound track. Bus shuttles will replace light rail trains between Southmoor and I-25•Broadway stations to provide connections for customers in and out of Denver Union Station and the Downtown Loop.
What to expect:
- E Line trains will temporarily operate every 15 minutes north of I-25•Broadway Station and every 30 minutes south of Southmoor Station during the disruption
- H Line trains will not operate north of Southmoor Station. Trains will operate every 30 minutes between Southmoor and Florida stations
- H Line customers destined for the Downtown Loop will need to transfer to the D Line via shuttles at I-25•Broadway Station
- Regular light rail service on the E and H lines will resume at approximately 12:15 p.m. each day of the three-day period
Completion of maintenance work along the light rail corridor will depend on several factors, including weather forecasts. More information about RTD’s light rail speed restrictions is available online.
