RTD offering Zero Fare to Vote today for customers to cast their ballots

DENVER (Nov. 5, 2024) –– The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is offering Zero Fare to Vote this Election Day to encourage voter participation. RTD services will be available at no cost today for customers in the Denver metro area to vote in person at Voter Service and Polling Centers or return their mail ballot to any official drop box.

Zero Fare to Vote removes the barrier of cost or not having access to a vehicle to enable Colorado voters to travel today on RTD services to drop off or cast their ballot. RTD’s Board of Directors approved Zero Fare to Vote as a permanent fare change earlier this year.

“Providing RTD customers with systemwide zero fare transit to access polling places was well received when introduced in 2022,” noted General Manager and CEO Debra A. Johnson. “This year and in subsequent general election years, registered voters can rely on RTD to deliver them to any polling place throughout the district to exercise their constitutional right to vote.”

Colorado voters can find their nearest ballot drop box or voting center by visiting GoVoteColorado.gov, and use RTD’s trip planner and click the “Vote” icon. Use the “Plan Trip” button to find the best route to a designated drop box or polling location.

Colorado has no registration deadline to vote. Eligible voters can register and vote today until the polls close.
