RTD accepting community feedback about proposed 2025 Title VI Program policy updates
DENVER (Jan. 2, 2025) –– The Regional Transportation District(RTD)is accepting community feedback about proposed updates to the agency’s2025 Title VI Programpolicythrough Jan. 31. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act promotes equitable access to transit services and ensures compliance with federal regulations. RTD’s Transit Equity Office updates its Title VI program every three years and is seeking feedback onproposed updates to three key policies: the Major Service Change Policy, which would redefine both“adverse effect” and what constitutes a major service change; the Low-Income Definition,which would redefine low-income populations as those whose household incomes are at or below 200% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines; and the Fare Equity Policy, which would clarify what constitutes a fare change and when a fare equity analysis would be required in accordance with the FTA.
Community members can provide feedback on the proposed changes on RTD’s Title VI program page(recommended) orby sending an email to [email protected] with “Proposed Title VI Policy Changes” in the subject line.
RTD’s current Title VI program started in 2022 and runs throughmid-2025. The agency’s updated program willbe in effect frommid-2025to 2028. The public is encouraged to visit the program page to learn moreabout the proposed updates and contribute feedback through the end of January.
