Broadway Marketplace Park-n-Ride will be unavailable effective April 22
DENVER (April 20, 2021) – Starting Thursday, Regional Transportation District (RTD) customers accustomed to using the Broadway Marketplace Park-n-Ride, which serves the Alameda Station, will need to park elsewhere to avoid ticketing and towing by the property owner. The agency has decided not to renew its license for the 240 parking spaces in that location. Parking remains available nearby for RTD customers.
RTD has licensed or leased spaces at Broadway Marketplace since 2000 for its bus and rail customers. The agency chose not to renew the contract for 2021 because parking spaces in this lot are underused, and they will eventually be lost due to redevelopment of the property. Extending an existing lease for these spaces was deemed not a prudent use of public dollars as RTD seeks long-term financial sustainability.
Agency customers can continue to use other nearby RTD parking spaces that serve Alameda Station. An unpaved lot that is part of I-25•Broadway Station Park-n-Ride can be accessed from the intersection of Cherokee Street and West Virginia Avenue. Ample parking is available at I-25•Broadway Station Park-n-Ride.
Alameda Station serves light rail lines D, E and H, as well as bus routes 1, 3, 4 and 52.
