It was a summer unlike any other for RTD’s Maintenance of Way (MOW) employees who have been working to replace rail along the Southeast Corridor to restore normal service speeds for customers. The team’s third shift is accomplishing the largest overnight rail installation undertaking RTD has ever done. As of early September, the team had replaced over 2,500 feet of rail on the Southeast Corridor resulting from inspections identifying rail defects. Full story.

Rail Safety Week is Sept. 23-29, and aims to bring awareness to collisions, injuries and fatalities on railroad tracks and at highway/rail grade crossings. RTD is seeking community members who are interested in public transit issues and community engagement to apply for one of six available positions on the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
