July 2024: Rich Jarosz

Mr. Jarosz is the gold standard of bus operators. Without fail, he goes the extra mile. He greets everyone cheerfully when they get on the bus, gives a person a quick moment to get in their seat, and avoids hitting the numerous bumps in the bus lane hard so people don't fall or get shaken. He calls out the major stops, repeatedly thanks people, and wishes riders a great day. Super positive! People notice! Riders thank him for the ride over and over. You feel like you matter and that the day will be better right from that ride. I find it as uplifting as others do! Give him a bonus and have him share his style with new/other operators. He is the best! Thank you!

How long have you driven for RTD? Have you always been a bus driver?

I've been a bus driver for 17 years. My previous position was as a service monitor.

What were you in a previous life?

I was a broker.

What do you like best about your job?

I like seeing the smiles of the customers and their satisfaction with the service.

If you could listen to music while working, what type would you choose?

I'd say no music, I wouldn't want the distraction.

If you could deck out your bus, what style would it be?

I would deck it out as a cherry apple red bus.

If you could change your uniform color, what color would you prefer?

I would pick light blue or red shirts with Khaki pants.

What type of service would you drive if given the choice?

I'd pick the 0L, and that is what I drive.
