June 2024: Danny Hinojos

This month’s Operator of the Month is Danny Hinojos. Hinojos was chosen for his quick thinking while he was waiting at his layover point at Central Park Station when he noticed a person who was laying on the ground at a stop nearby. When he saw the person on the ground, he noticed they were unconscious. He contacted local authorities and performed CPR on the person until responders arrived.

How long have you driven for RTD?

I have driven 1.5 years fixed route and 0.5-year paratransit.

Have you always been a bus driver? What were you in a previous life?

No, I was a store owner in the past.

What do you like best about your job?

I enjoy helping people.

If you could listen to music while working, what type would you choose?

I would choose jazz music.

If you could deck out your bus, what style would it be?

I would pick something conservative.

If you could change your uniform color, what color would you prefer? 

I would choose blue.

What type of service would you drive if given the choice? What is your favorite service to drive or operate?

My favorite route is the paratransit bus
