Use the following precautions to stop the spread of germs:

  1. Cover your cough
    • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze; if you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hands.
  2. Clean your hands after coughing or sneezing
    • Wash hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds, or clean hands with a hand sanitizer.
    • Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs.
  3. Avoid close contact
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • When you are sick, keep your distance from others.
  4. Stay at home when you are sick
    • If possible, stay home from work, school and/or from running errands when you are sick.  You will help prevent others from catching your illness.
  5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
    • Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his/her eyes, nose or mouth.
  6. Practice other good health habits
    • Get plenty of sleep, exercise, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.

For your further protection, RTD is increasing its sanitizing procedures in buses, trains and stations.  RTD is also monitoring the current situation with local, state and federal health agencies and will adjust our procedures as warranted.
